1997: Made the cut after a strong preseason....Saw only spot duty in first game on active roster vs. Florida (5/10)...Deactivated for game at Arizona (5/3)...Saw playing time at Albany (6/7), catching a pass and making two tackles...Had three tackles one week later against New Jersey (6/14)...Caught one pass for 18 yards and had a tackle at Orlando (6/27)...Made two receptions for 18 yards and an assist at Texas (7/5)...One week later, had two catches for 22 yards and a tackle...Deactivated one week later with a hamstring injury; he was placed on injured reserve on July 24.
